G20 Pittsburgh clips Thursday, Friday Video and picture summary, Get your activism in GEAR people!

The Stench of Truth 222a Just some additional footage from Thursday and a little bit of footage from today showing that after the Thomas Merton Center's march the city became deserted. Police and National Guard still in evidence, businesses closed down and boarded up. Some pictures mixed in, of the convention center, national guard, and police. I was hoping to pick up some stragglers in the city or find some people protesting for economic justice but was disappointed. Not long after my visit today the "dignitaries" started leaving. No doubt they have decided our fate for the next 6 months. To all who want to be active it is ESSENTIAL THAT YOU GET TO WORK NOW!! Get ready to oppose the fascist policies that come out of this "summit".

You say there were few protestors left, there were also no G20 delegates left. On top of that the police forced us to go to a park (as the permit allowed) and then surrounded us and intimidated people till they began to disperse.

@kenney420 This was a total police state attack on dissent. The very model of what will be done in the future. The attacks on students in Oakland is another example.

You don't listen very well I guess. The overwhelming presence of police and military served to discourage dissent as sure as if it had been banned, and making the city a fortress. Also the convention center was completely inaccessible to ANY protesters.

You know something that just occurred to me is that this is training for the real martial law. I bet they disect the hell out of stuff like this and really consruct plans for every little detail. We should do the same man. Just a thought, but perhaps it would behoove you to take notes on how they run shit. Never hurts to know things. peace

I find it funny that they need more protection from than the US army needs in the green zone just to "create policy".

the news media has already exaggerated the protests as chaos. even though they didn't have much to go on, they can spin any degree of resistance. so the idiots and possible hired shills made the most splash on that coverage.
