This is the first assignment given to me in the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program at University of Southern California. Each student was given the same clip (the trailer to the new Disney film: TRON Legacy) and asked to write original music from the entrance of Character 'A', until Character 'A' crashes his "Lightbike", which is about 2/3 of the way through the clip. The goal of the assignment was to write music that enhanced the atmosphere, character relationships, and "marks" within the clip while maintaining musical sense. "Marks" were made at each students discretion, i.e. "Character 'A' leaps into air", "Character B stops moving", "First Conflict 'Crash'", etc. Students were only allowed to use Logic (a sequencing/looping software) to create music for the clip. No notation software (Sibelius/Finale) was allowed. Also, each student was only given 12 hours maximum to create about 1' 30" of music for the clip. This clip is my final product of the assignment. Enjoy!
