Here I sing an old song I have heard on an old record with Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers.
I think it is from around 1925-30 and was sung at minstrel shows among others.
The guitar I play on is a Blueridge BR 143

I really enjoyed that - very nice picking! I have heard the skillet lickers version as well and if you are interested, I have deciphered most of the lyrics. Thank you. And I would love to see the lyrics you have decifered. I found the lyrics for this one on a website with lyrics for old traditional songs. It was impossible for me to hear what Gid Tanner was singing on the old recording I have. And the fact that english is not my native language doesn't make it easier.

good playing and singing! When you first started playing it, one of my kids was singing "There ain't no bugs on me, there ain't no bugs on me. There may be bugs on some of you mugs, but there ain't no bugs on me" so I guess this is the music someone got for that song. Again, good job!

I first heard it with Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers as i write.

But it was from an old record, and I had a hard time hearing what they were singing, so i looked it up on a website with lyrics for traditional old songs, and found the lyrics i sing here. I think they are very funny. I'd love to hear more of the Bugs version :-)
