Hey, thanks for the kind words. One thing, however. If you are type 1, you are always type 1, juvenile diabetes. If you are a type 2, you will always be a type 2, which is adult onset. All type 1's use insulin. Not all type 2's do. I do. I didn't, but now I do. It's my fault for not taking care of myself, but that's how it goes. Even though I use insulin, I'm still type 2.

Both can use insulin, the type refers to how and when you got diabetes. Also, my family makes that mistake all the time. I try to explain it, but I guess since it's not something that they have to deal with, the explanation doesn't stick. Oh, well.

Dont focus on exercise cos its a bitch if your not in the mood and will make you depressed if you dont do it, then youll end up eating more. Maybe take up golf or something like dog walking?

I've had type 1 since february 2007. i take a shot with EVERYTHING i eat, plus lantus at night. i feel your pain dude, but you gotta keep your head up. don't worry about those little bitches making fun of you. they've obviously got their own complex issues. =D

Im a 18 year old type 1 insulin dependent diabetic. I weigh around 140. I am 5'1 or 5'2.

I am a senior in high school.

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in Nov of 04. So it has been 6 years since i was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The things i hate about being diabetic is the highs and lows. When my blood sugar is low i am hungry and shaky. I want to eat non stop when my blood sugar is low. I dont eat non stop when i am low. When my blood sugar is high i feel like crap and i want to sleep

I'm 28yrs old. I'm a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic. I currently weigh 302lbs. I workout everyday with pushups and sittups and rowing machine and every other day with weights. Losing weigh is always a struggle when your diabetic. Diabetes is a war and you are the Marine on the front lines. Some days seem like hell but you must remember to forge onward and upward. Don't pay any mind to the nay-sayers. Remain stead fast and you WILL win the day and bask in the glory of being better then them.

@alliesoft I don't see a reason why that prick would make someone Hypoglycemic or have diabetes type 1 or 2, it's just because he doesn't exist, or he's the biggest ballbuster to exist with a fucked up sense of humor or something, I'll never get that son of a bitch.

my dad has diabetes it sucks dont it he hates his shots that retarded disease you aint fat the insulin causes it it says so in my moms disease encyclopedia

diabetics have dangerously low glucose levels at a much more frequent level !!!

Yes, you have a higher risk of getting it. But you can do a lot to decrease chances of getting diabetes and its complications. Are you doing anything. Do you know your real risk? I assume both your parents have type 2 diabetes. BTW Avoid going for 'diabetes cures'.

I'm 14 and a hypoglycemic. Yes it does suck, I'd rather do injections than have dangerously low glucose levels. But this makes us who we are. God gave it to us for a reason. It'll be okay
