Tab Jones is a bounty hunter. He receives orders to capture Tully Wexler, alive. His hunt leads him to the hideout of local thug West Marbad where Wexler is supposedly staying. Jones confronts Marbad about Wexler's whereabouts. Marbad informs Jones that he will have trouble getting Wexler alive because Marbad intends to kill him. Locked in a standoff, Jones and Marbad brawl. Jones pulls a piece on Marbad who then tells a story about pigeons, hawks, and people throwing bread. The story is a metaphor for the complexities of murder and guilt.

The opening scene includes an excerpt from a speech by Pan-Africanist Omali Yeshitela. Yeshitela used the story of the wolf to illustrate the injustice of crack cocaine in America, how it was introduced by the white man but has been used to oppress black Americans. I feel that the story of the wolf can also be used in a larger context to show that often times the wrong people are blamed for their crimes, that they act not out of greed or malice but out of desperation and necessity. I do not intend to condone death or violence with my movie. Rather, I am saying that often times it is hard to tell who exactly is in the wrong, if there even is a right.
