  • As a Mexican-American I'm dealing with my own identity crisis, because neither one really wants to admit me into them.

I'm not American enough, because I also speak spanish, they ask me why bother? You almost look complete caucasion, you don't need that language: keyword ALMOST. In the Mexican culture i'm an outsider because my spanish has a "gringo" accent, and I'm too "white" when I express surprise at a cultural marker they take for granted.

So I ask the question, What am I?

  • @Minnetter So what I mean to say is. I get these children feeling left without a place to fit in, and caucasians can say things without meaning to that hurt them, mainly because they've never really had to deal with how they fit in to society. I get the child who says "in my head I was caucasian" I thought that also, I never saw myself as different from a John or Jane Smith, until I realized that not everyone knew spanish, and that teachers would actually scold me for speaking it.

  • @ThePurpleBunny123 That was what I said and then i hit 16. Tell me if you feel the same when you get to 16 because i can guarantee you that you wont, you will have a tougher situation, trust me.

  • I'm 13 years old and adopted. I never thought, "What's wrong with me?" I always just thought of myself as adopted. I knew I was different, but nothing happened with that. Of course people made fun of me, but it wasn't anything big.

  • I'm adopted and focusing on race is such a small part of the problem, nice cover-up, though.

  • @Minnetter ur u and feck em all if they want to group u just b urself if they dont like it they can kiss ur mexican amerian ass

  • @SuddenCatharsis White liberals AND conservatives say it. They say it whenever it benefits them to say it. When it doesn't then both are as racist as can be.

  • @Kedichou i agree... minorities deal with racim... we now how because its alwas been with us... so altough i think this video is for anyone thinking of adopting such as myself... i think its more helpfull to white parents
