  • @TheOats no. in cropping, you lose resolution. On DX, the camera is still at 12MP but with a longer focal length.

  • Or you could be like any normal photojournalist and have the 2 body 17-35 (or 24-70) and 70-200 combo. If you can't afford a 70-200 just get an 80-200 afs or d.

  • On the whole crop thing, couldn't you just crop in post? If you move the same lens over from a FF camera to APS-C camera it is not zoomed in any more than on the FF. It is just a smaller part of the image the lens "can produce" that is visible. (Or do I have that wrong?)

  • 17-35, 50 1.8G, 85 1.8G, 80-200 : Gets the job done without breaking the bank.

  • As i've heard shouting portrets with macro lens is not recomender because you get overdetailed pictures. Is that true? (Sorry about my English but im from Greece)

  • Gotta use ALL 2.8 lenses. Churches today frown on flash during ceremony. Mine at 17-35; 24-70; and 70-200 Nikkors.

  • crap

Can you read the heading? It os for NIKON D700 and NOT Canon D.......

Stick to your toys... Nikon makes tools though....

Obviously this is about the NIKON lenses HE uses and I have the same lenses here too...

Great choice you have here, I use it also for my landscape photography....
