For more information on the care of ducklings, go to MetzerFarms.com

Please read the warnings about getting pet ducks at the website below. Don't just take this as being over-reactive or over-protective there is NOTHING the MrFlapper's mama exagerates here: http://mrflapper.com/blog/want-a-pet-duck/

You can read more about the breeds and caring for ducks and ducklings at: http://www.metzerfarms.com/DuckWelcome.cfm?CustID=147879

we also have a duck blog: http://irishmamaduck.blogspot.com
(although we have not been updating as often as we would like, it is mostly pictures)

  • I have some ?'s

    1. How much does a baby dick cost

    2. Where do u keep them

    3. Can they live in a neighborhood

    4. Are they mean

  • @barrelracingfan1 ... 1. not much initally but food and supplies run about ~$50 month for 1-2 ducks 2. You need to have a preditor safe pen and house to provide protection from the weather ... 3. It depends on your city laws, some can, some can't ... 4. not if you are part of the "flock" NOTE: ducks take A LOT of work, and it is not easy to get duck sitters. You can find more information on raising ducks

  • @barrelracingfan1 We have several other videos of our ducks, that might give you a better glimpse of having pet ducks. You can also check out MetzerFarms (dot) com about ducks and caring for ducks

  • They were about about 4-6 weeks old. We were warned that by 8 weeks they would be ready to be out of the brooder an in to a pen. It was all too fast. These are pekin ducks on of the largest breeds

  • @barrelracingfan1 1: That's a really unfortunate typo. 4: From memories of my parents' ducks (on a farm, so they didn't worry about #3 and kept them in a barn) they'd get mean if there was only one male. They had one male one year and he attacked people constantly. Once there was more than one, the ducks were not mean.

  • @mortalkombatfan2000 so they do come back??
