Samples I randomly come across as I buy records. #4

---

Common - "I Used To Love H.E.R."
Resurrection (Relativity, 1994)

George Benson - "The Changing World"
Bad Benson (CTI, 1974)

---

People Under The Stairs - "Slow Bullet"
The Next Step (PUTS, 1998)

Bob James & Earl Klugh - "Kari"
One On One (Tappan Zee, 1979)

---

DJ Cam - "Free Your Turntable And Your Scratch Will Follow"
Mad Blunted Jazz (Shadow, 1996)

Miles Davis - "Black Satin"
On The Corner (Columbia, 1972)

- Not 100% positive on this one, but it sounds a lot alike. To me, the quick three-note tabla hit was the biggest sign.

---

Pete Rock - "Something Funky"
Petestrumentals (BBE, 2001)

Large Professor - "Funky 2 Listen 2"
The LP (Geffen, 1996)

---

  • dope video man... if you like sample stuff check out the song on my page "Chillax"

  • will you shut the fuck up and just watch the video

  • @TheCandiShopp

Yeah,I hear you man.I'm so limited.I need an MPC so I can have the freedom to make the stuff that I've always wanted to.

  • man i got that bob james earl klugh album but its warped to shit

  • word me too

  • also, big TIP , for those into Hip hop, rap, basically after the Beastie Boys/pauls boutique, Biz Markie's "can i get a haircut" and De La soul's 3feet high" you start to notice credit in liner notes where samples were flipped from. You see even the legalities have to show PROPerS, so get with the positive spirit and show respect, you do not claim this as your discovery. And by the way, all samples you have reviewed have been on well known compilations for years.

  • how are these discoveries, when they have already been recorded, then flipped/sampled 20 years after they were recorded, then now I see this as a REVIEW, not discovery, unless you are not from the planet earth. Please give the artists their proper respect, and consider they might be offended when you claim you discovered the talent from what was originally musicians in a studio, laying down to tape and then to wax. Hip hop is getting increasingly short sighted per hour.

  • i need mpc bad. i be doin it the hard way.

  • Just wondering, are you using the Expedit Shelves from Ikea?

  • great job!
