A number of questions and statements in the comments section about Mary's virginity. Back in April 2008, I did a 2-video series called "The Fuss about Mary's Virginity" that addresses a number of them. The following is a link to the first part:

Music (in order it appears in video):

"Silent Night"

"Glory to God in the Highest" (from Handel's "Messiah")

"We Three Kings of Orient Are"

"Simeon's Lullaby"

"Mary, Did You Know?" (outro)

  • Why is this a BLUNDER? Mary, as any sinful human being, lost sight of who her son really was. I mean, WOULDN'T YOU, if YOU were the one changing his diapers, if YOU were the one calling him to dinner, if YOU were the one that tucked him into bed? Come on man!

  • @jondabill1 So she "lost sight" of her conversation with the angel Gabriel, her becoming pregnant while a virgin, the other miraculous circumstances surrounding her pregnancy and the birth of her son, is that correct? All of these things, which the gospel tells us she kept and pondered in her heart, just drifted away once she started changing diapers and calling Jesus to dinner?

  • JUST BECAUSE YOUR GRAN MA BEAT YOU AND FORCED YOU TO GO TO CHURCH WHEN YOU DIDN'T WANT TO IS NO REASON TO HATE THE BIBLE AND JESUS THIS MUCH MAN!!!!!!!!

  • @MrTommyt63 You should look up the ad hominem fallacy and learn to avoid it in future. BTW, I don't hate the Bible or Jesus. But even if I did, the argument rises and falls on its merits. That's what you have to deal with as a believer and what you have sought to avoid in a most ham-handed way.

  • Luke 2:49-50 KJV

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

  • @perez85tkd I know what the passage said. I quoted it in the video. Why are you posting it?

  • @ProfMTH ...He replied in this fashion BECAUSE his mother (Mary) called Joseph his Father. Read the text. He is correcting her. Mary was fallible....eh, so are you, and the book isn't.... Have a nice day!

  • @ProfMTH Secondly, you quoted a new translation that messed up the passage. Just stick with the KJV, it helps a great deal. Jesus did NOT say, "Don't you know I have to be IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE?". He REALLY said, "Wist ye not that I must BE ABOUT MY FATHER'S business?". NOW...Jesus was already working in Joseph's workshop and learning the carpentry trade, BUT... now, he steps out and says that his FATHER'S business involved people, the law, and salvation, not construction.....

  • @ProfMTH She had twelve years in which to "lose sight" of it, as you say. The Israelites in Exodus had merely hours and days to forget about the miracles God performed in saving their lives from the Egyptians. How about America today? It didn't take US long to forget our Godly heritage and the words of our Founding Fathers. Our constitution is only 225 years old, but we have forgotten COMPLETELY about its significance.

  • I can't believe that there are some rational, thinking adults who still believe this crap. We are now in the second decade of the 21st century -- when will people "wise up" and get with the program???
