This is the first video of an airchair doing a rolling launch without ailerons (the glider is controlled by rudders and elevator). Gene Embry is shown here flying the Pig (Primary Instruction Glider) down the training hill at Crestline, San Bernardino, California, in July of 2009. Wide spaced wheels keep the plane level and make training in light winds practical. I held up the tail and ran down the hill with it while taking this video with my other hand. The annual Crestline Fly-in is in progress, you can hear the band music on the audio.
This flight represents my greatest advance toward simple and safe flying down a training hill, which might also be done by low and slow line towing from a field or runway. Website http://m-sandlin.info
So pigs really DO fly!

Mike noted in the FAQ on his web site : " It was reported that a Bug4-like glider was built in Utah for just under $3k, and materials for a Goat-like glider should cost about the same."

A Google search would answer both these questions, The video is from an 85 ft training hill.

What does the PIG cost to build?

Can you say how high is that hill? I have built an ultralight glider but am not sure if the local hills in my area are suitable for that.
