Do folks know the story of Clara Scott Fisk who wrote this hymn? She was waiting for her husband in a wagon; the horse bolted and she was throw out; she hit her head and she was killed. God took this woman in an instant.

My Great Grandmother told me that this was one of her four favorite hymns. She is my all time favorite person and was my closest friend and relative.. When she died I told the family and they had these four hymns sung at her funeral. When I have time I will search my memory to remember what the other three were. Sometimes I remember. I still cry when I think about her...

Got to be one the most hauntingly beautiful melodies & harmonic structures ever written...I grew up hearing it in church, but didn't really appreciate its complex simplicity until I was older.
