Final Fantasy VIII Part 88 Stats Up

Part 88 - Just a few ways to bring stats up. I'll explain some more here.

Devour -
Level 30+ Adamantoise. Devour it at low health for +1 permanent Vit.
Level 30+ Behemoth. Devour it at low health for +1 permanent Mag.
Level 30+ Ruby Dragon. Devour it at low health for +10 permanent HP.
Level 30+ T-Rexaur. Devour it at low health for +1 permanent STR.

Now I'm not 100% sure about all of them and I'm not too sure Ruby Dragon/T-Rexaur works at Island Closest to Hell.

Anyway, next up is Leveling.
Believe it or not, but you gain very little stats by leveling up.
The only way to make it effective is to make sure each level you gain get stats from 4x stats up abilities.

Carbuncle has Vit Up.
Leviathan has SPR Up.
Ifrit has STR Up.
Brothers has HP Up.
Siren has Mag Up.
Cactuar has Hp Up, Str Up, Spr Up, Mag Up, Vit Up.

Some things to note. HP Up for leveling is quite interesting as it doesn't give just 10 like any other way. It gives 30 hp per level which is valuable.
Another thing is that those are 5 stats and you can only have 4 at once.
Well my personal opinion is skip Mag for most part.
Either gain enough health so Full-life gives you 9999 then switch to Mag OR keep going with health so you can junction something else for 9999.

Anyway, the only way to do this at first is kill 1 of your characters and then equip 1 with Cactuar and the other stats up GF's to the second.

Preferably level Quistis and someone else except Squall at first. The reason for this is Quistis is by far the best at killing and Squall can't be switched out.
So say you level Quistis and Zell first and keep Squall dead.
Once Quistis is leveled you could bring in Squall and still level 2 characters and keep killing with Quistis.
If you level Quistis AND Squall at first you'd have to leave out Quistis when she's leveled in order to level 2 at once.
Squall ain't bad at killing, but Quistis is still much better.

Here's how to do it -
Equip as much hp as you can and put Quistis in critical.
Have Item/recover at least on the one leveling with Quistis.
He just supports Quistis if something goes wrong and she dies.
Getting down to it, all she does is spam limit Degenerator which insta-kills any of the opponents on Island Closest to Hell.

Last way to level is making Stats Up items.
This is really annoying I'm telling you, but it works very easily.
First off, you need a Gazillion of Gil.
You're gonna have to spam buy Cottages & Tents to make 75 mega-potions, sell them and repeat. You make tons and tons on this, but you'll need so unbelievably much so you have to do it a crazy amount.

Anyway, you need Tonberry with all his shopping skills.
You need Eden with GFABL Refine skill and Doomtrains Forbiden Refine.

Call shop with Tonberry to Esthar pet shop and buy 100x Power Wrists. They cost 15000 each...
Use Eden to turn all of them into 10 Hyper Wrists.
Then with Doomtrain, turn 10 Hyper Wrists into 1 Str Up...
Yup, that's all you get for 100!!! It works and you can keep doing this forever as much as you like with whichever of the stats you want. But man oh man does it take long.

Make sure you have the 'Esthar shop!!!' in your call shop tab. In order to get a shop there you have to visit it once at least.

@SuperRandomshit101 Yes..? A few mobs like the adamantoise gives +1 stat as long as they have level 30+. Or if you're talking about the censored thing, then yes that happens too. Just try it yourself.

The beaches north on the west continent has the adamantoise.

@Zashtheman ok i know it gives you stats up but does that CENSOR thing happen im srry i never got eden b4 i didnt know how play ff8 back then i was like 10 didnt know how to junction lol but now i do even if im 14 but still i got 100 pain spells on disk 1 and squall or zell if switch or not , is BEAST LOL i also got meltdowns and holys

@Zashtheman Yeah I should have added - I just dip in and out of training during the day, played the game so many times, so just when I want to switch my brain off I'll pursue 255 speed, rather than spending hours in a row... if that makes sense? Haha, it's gonna take forever but it's fine when it just relaxes you for half an hour at a time or so. I agree that other than that it is a pretty pointless endeavour.

@PilliDSL I'm not gonna diss your way of playing, but my walkthroughs aren't about doing excessive things that won't do you much good and is just painful to get.

Getting speed to 255 is almost pointless.

None of this will help to increase speed though. I'm getting my speed stats up to 255!! I've got all the others except luck, magic and hit up to 255 as well.

Hard to say... Assuming we're talking stats up, money glitch is probably more reliable, but it gets extremely tedious.

I guess you could do whichever you feel like at the time.

Nah? The monsters has to be level 30+ if you want permanent stat boosts.

You can use Tonberry to level them up.
