Filming Cops in the United Kingdom will land you jail. Photographing police may be illegal in Brown's big brother Britain. The vagueness of the new law is an invitation for abuse.
This report is worded and the clips edited for scaremongering. You cannot be arrested just for taking a photo of the police or armed forces when in public. The police have been given orders that photography itself is not sufficient reason for questioning/searching/etc..
Section 44 of the Terrorism Act is no longer applicable to photographers. Section 43 can only be used if there is reasonable suspician that a person actually is a terrorist themselves, and carrying a camera is not reason enough.
I need a reasonable excuse to take a photo? How about the cop needs a reasonable excuse for talking to me and accusing me of something. Maybe I should go over there, start taking photos, and if a cop begins talking to me just ignore him completely as if he isn't even there, continuing to take photos.
Can't take photo's of changing of the Guard, service people. Royal wedding he is a service person. Where is the line drawn. It's drawn so that you can't show their mistakes, but when a major incident happens first thing they ask is if anyone has any photo's can we see them?. What a crock of shit.
