yep the fernandez sustainer works the same way except this is like a hand held sustainer driver..it just makes your guitar come alive..nicely done, i love the roof thing and the music had a trance-like meditative quality to it, kinda reminded me of listening to a sri chinmoy cassette :) ohhhhhhhhmmmmm!! im in my happy peaceful place now :)

Micro Cube FTW!!

Ah, the e-bow. I use it for compensating the fact that I can't play guitar to save my life. I love to make long, haunting, theremin-like solos with it.

@desirewithinus Hi - I actually bought it in Hk 12 years ago: top floor of Sogo in Causeway Bay. Haven't been there in a while, though. Good luck!

Why doesn't he just a delay and, volume pedal? Putting his volume knob to use, would work just as well too.

I think the e-bow has many applications and I guess using the methods you describe similar sounds can be found - but the e-bow produces infinite sustain and you can tease and tweak the sound with your fingers as you play: there is much less interefence between the guitar, amp, player and ultimately your tone. I believe the Fernandes series of guitars have an in built sustainer pup on many of their guitar models that does something very similar. Thanks.

what is that in your picking hand? also beautiful guitar and crazy tones.

It's an e-bow. You can google it. It's been around for years, generates a magnetic field that sustains the guitar notes for as long as you hold it close to the strings, makes it sound like a violin or cello being 'bowed', hence e-bow ...
