Insight episode The Bird on the Mast from 1971.
Amazing TV theme from a quality anthology TV series.
Sort of Twilight Zone with a religious tone, Rod Serling even wrote one episode!

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! THANKS for posting! I recall watching this show on local TV back in the 70's & 80's. Was produced by a Roman Catholic ministry but the religous content always seemed non-sectarian. Very intelligent & thought provoking at times. And some very good casts...some of Hollywood's top stars appeared on the series during their career.

  • @Kemruss yes. a Black man from u.s. was in a pub in ireland. the bar was thick w/ tension between irish protestants & irish catholics. the Black man tried to decrease the tension, playing a slow gospel-style song on the piano, maybe singing along. one of the irish guys says something like, "what is this, a revival?" at the end, someone tosses a grenade in the middle of the room. the Black man jumps on top of the grenade, covering it w/his body. it explodes. slow gospel-style piano music.

  • I wanna see the episode..."chicken" ! Please post !

  • @choctye1 Don't forget "This Is The Life!"

  • I wish they would sell or post some episodes of insight best Christian drama every made. They don't have the guts to make TV like this anymore.

  • I've always liked this theme song, being that I would hear that song going on in the other room when one of my older brothers use to watch that show.

  • The opening and closing credits of what may be the most thought-provoking TV show in TV history.

In the late '70's, I can remember (as a grad school student in Boston), watching SNL, going out for a late supper to one of several after-hours bistros (The Bulkie Delicatessen, Ken's Pub, The Deli Haus, The Aegean Fare), returning to my apartment, and watching this show (WBZ-TV, I think), and feeling that my Saturday night had been perfectly book-ended.

  • Is there a way I can purchase these shows? How I remembered them growing up back in the 1970's. I always thought of it as a Christian Television Show.

  • @Suldog29 I remember that!!! He played "Lefty" a guy with one arm who made up stories of heroism about it...Can`t remember how it ended except it involved a girl... who cared.

  • How is this show not on somewhere or available on DVD?
