Lack of Fuel , supplies for the Offensive and lack of Experienced personnel for example Tank drivers, with little driving experience and given the key to Drive a 70 Ton TigerII. Its one of my Fav Offensives, but way out of Reach.

Stupid Counter Attack. Impossible aims/objectives. An typical attack from an enemy in its death throes.

That was until Patton got involved and the weather changed! It was stupid of the Germans to exhaust their reserves in this battle. If they would have held off from using the reserve troops, the war could have lasted until 1946.

My dad was wounded and captured during the Ardennes Offensive. He remained a POW until the end of the war.

Yes, my father is still living. He wrote down most of his accounts from the war. He will be 84 in Dec.

Sepp Deitrich was commander of Liebstandarte SS formerly served on Eastern Front and set the tone for the Ardennes offensive. It was his men who initiated the Malmedy massacre of GI prisoners.
