The US administration has been saying it sees the first green shoots of economic recovery. However consumer spending remains low in America, and some experts argue the signs are misleading.

  • What a sad day it is to see that Russia Today will broadcast truth when our own media and government will not. At least about the crappy financial management of the US government.

  • If Russia and China doesn't want the U.S. dollars they can give them to me I will take the burdon off them. It doesn't matter how many just e-mail me and I will be right there to pick them up.

  • "The U.S. just keeps printing paper money without producing anything useful."

Actually, the United States produces many useful products. However, not nearly enough to justify the level of spending we've seen since the early eighties. The US has plenty of resources and human capital to be very prosperous, but our leaders have sold us out to the globalists and international bankers.

  • is this why Russian and Chinese authorities lowering paper against dollar ? I see .Gloomy future for the dollar becasue Ruble and Yuan supported by gold . right ?

  • shit, if that chunk is big enough, u can use it as a weapon to knock aggressor out :)

  • fuck the dollar get rid of it

  • you want to carry around a chunk of gold around. go ahead will probably get jumped haha

  • Bingo.

  • The reason why Americans could afford to spend, spend, spend is because the US dollar is treated as the world's "reserve" currency. The U.S. just keeps printing paper money without producing anything useful. Then Americans use those papers to trade for ACTUAL goods from other countries. Other countries treat those US papers like gold, using those papers to back their own currencies.

It is the legacy of the aftermath of World War II. But the war is a long time ago. It's time for change.

  • we should all just go back to gold.
