Common Cause President Bob Edgar is leading a delegation to Vietnam in March to reach out to those children and adults harmed by the dangerous defoliant used during the Vietnam War by American troops. Agent Orange causes severe birth defects, mental disabilities, and death for those in contact with the chemical. It also causes "hot spots" of environmental damage, deforesting land for decades. Agent Orange is yet another sign that wars don't end when the last soldier leaves the battlefield.
The genetic damage caused by agent orange lasts for generations, how many we don't know yet.

Monsanto and Dow Chemical should be helping fund this.

Totally agree with this. An "Agent Orange Study" was done in the late 80's early 90's at Lovelace Research Institute in Albuquerque, NM. We were caring for veterans at that time. It seems only fair to me that someone in the USA should do something about the impact on the people of Vietnam. Thanks to the Ford Foundation and the other organization that is funding this effort. Thanks to Common Cause for putting on YouTube.
