An excellent cassette deck. Makes great recording and has many useful features. This one was second hand and had a minor problem when I got it so I explain how I fixed it. I also explain how some of the features work which I hope is useful to you if you have one of these and don't have an instruction book. Thank you for watching.

  • Using a cassette deck and calibrate things are the easiest things in the world haha

It all speaks for itself , and if you still can't figure it out read the manual haha

Instructionbook in PDF format are all available from the web for free

What is far more interesting is , is how you check the alignment of the heads and the zenith and the pressure of the capstanrollers

Most manufactorers were very untidy and inaccurate in finishing this .

That's why most cassettedecks can sound crappy..

  • nice trick about cleaning.Q:is it easy put belt for capstan in deck?

  • Just a tip, adjust the recording level first, then the bias as it is usually easier to calibrate some tapes. Also, the Sony UX-S tape will work flawlessly without calibration and very little or no adjustment is needed. Also, I have one question for you - are the capstans constantly rotating as soon as you power up the deck? You've done a really good video there, thanks!

  • cheers for the head cleaning tip, just tried it on mine and never knew u could play without having a tape in !!

  • i have same deck, love it. i had to replace the capstan motor and had a new belt fitted. works great now. lovely tape deck from 1993

  • Thanks for uploading such an informative video - has helped me alot.
