I bought my '08 in '07. Great commuter bike w/its 45+ mpg. I bought the classic 'cuz I could not get the lt in solid black. I don't know if they fixed this but the grease zerk design is stupid and, in my case, costly. I smashed the lower zerk within 3 months after purchase riding over a speedbump. Overall, very dependable performing machine. I've tweaked mine out w/the extras and will trike it when I am no longer commuting.

@gwave64 Looks cool, might do that as well, although I've been told that buying a used bike is sometimes a risky business. But on the other hand, first bikes have a lot to go through, so it might not be such a bad idea. Thanks

@LoveGuitarsNBruises I bought a used 2006 Vulcan 900 Classic last summer without ever riding a bike in my life. I think its a great bike. I love it and i think it was easy to learn on.

I was wondering, how are these bikes for somebody with NO experience at all? Are they good to start with, or should I look for something else?

And what can you say about the Classic vs Custom?
