  • @lexikalfanfic no, the grandmother is an evil witch, the boy has always been spooked by her, the way young children sometimes are by thier grandparents. his mum had taken his brother to hsopital leaving him alone with gramma. he starts to get over his fear and brings her tea but then see's hell under the floorboards right, and in the end takes over the boy's body. it's also likely that the mother + rest of the family don't know she's a witch or choose to ignore it

  • What does this have to do with the Twilight Zone? This just goes to show u that not every Stephen King story should become a movie or TV show. The producers were just desperate here. Besides, this plays better as a book and not as a movie or even TV show. Too much talking, not enough action.

  • @lexikalfanfic

The kid's grandmother was an especially dangerous witch, something which his mother had deluded herself into believing wasn't true despite the evidence. This is the prime reason her siblings stayed away from her. But, she'd become less lethal when she got older and sickly. Until now...

  • is this a screwed up version of Georges marvelous medicine....?

  • Isn't that boy from the never ending story? !

  • did he just say i offer my light to cthulu?

  • euw!.. what kinda of fucked up gramma is this!!!

  • @lexikalfanfic the grandmother was a witch and what the boy saw was her true form. the "human" form of gramma was really a human host body that the witch possessed. when the host body died, the witch possessed the boy. that's why his eyes were funky at the end.

at least, that's what i think it all meant...

  • @youkilledthefrog It was never referred as the Necronomicon until the Evil DEad 2, released in 1987. In the first Evil Dead it was only refererred as "the book" or as "the book of the dead" as in the alternate title.

  • The title Necronomicon was used in the first Evil Dead film which was released in 1981; this episode of the Twilight Zone aired in 1986.
