"Skiing 7 Summits" trailer

The film »Skiing 7 Summits« features a story about a first-ever skiing expedition to the 7 highest mountains of all continents, including the first ski descent from Mt. Everest. Slovenian extreme skier Davo Karničar, the first man ever to accomplish such a feat, completed this project in December 2006.

His extraordinary skiing descent from Mt. Everest in year 2000 has likewise not been repeated yet. Other skiers, including Kit DesLauriers, managed to ski only sections of the descent or were either assisted by rappelling or carried their skis on foot across the cruxes of the route.

the first man to ski down the everest was Jean Marc Boivin and not Davo Karničar as said in the movie

Davo Karničar was the first skier who has done it completely. That means - he was the first skier to ski Mt. Everest from the summit right to the base without taking skis off or using abseils or any other non-skiing technique. There were others attempts to do this, but till this moment - no one succeeded to do it completely.

No, he did NOT repel on down climb the Hillary Step. He launched it and kept on skiing. He's the real extreme skier. He's not a fraud douche bag like Seth Morrison who ride up in helicopters or never go up into the death zone.

@Neffstradamus You are wrong. Davo is the only one to completely ski it. He skied it from the summit and never took his skis off. He skied from the summit to base camp in only 5 hours.

I think about 3 people have skiied from the summit now, they pretty much rappel down the step, but they keep their ski's on, so its considered continuous. Obviously you can't go down either face from the peak. So they go summit ridge standard route, abseil down the Hillary step, ski to the balcony and eventually down the Lhotse face.
