  • Haha fair enough! You know what: a month ago I went to a concert in order to hear a supervirtuoso play this...guess what?? He cancelled this piece:(( Well, lets keep our hopes up!

  • @suzettegm Added today to my favorites and playlist... (:-D) It has been a long time since we have heard Koenig W's playing.

  • @Noshirm Thank you Noshie, it's an honor....actually FWM is in your part of the world right now (well, Bandung) Ahead of my bro and me. He got very interested in his definitely not royal roots...probably learning Moslim mores (:D) and listening to the lovely gamelan....ah but music is music eh?

  • @suzettegm Indonesia....hmmm, never been there, and have no desire to, either! (;-D) Yes, music is music...but then there is music, and there is music. No?! I hope he never abandons the piano.

  • @Noshirm I guess he'll not as it's a necessity for some to do something like that. I wouldn't say that the so called (Western) "classical" music is the only one counting but for that we're different....cheers!

  • I studied this with Adele Marcus, the pupil of Josef Lhevinne. She also taught Islamey to me. In both, she said, "they must be dances, with an 'harem' in the middle, dear"--and never the outer dance sections too fast!

  • BRAVO! And if you have a pianist of the caliber of Mr. Biegel commenting on the playing, consider yourself privileged, young man! He studied with Adele Marcus - a profound musician who worked with Schnabel and Josef Lhevinne. She was also the teacher of Byron Janis. Thank God she lived a long life and positively influenced so many pianists. I respect her enormously!!! KEEP PLAYING. Do NOT ever give up on music. Make it a part of your daily life. All the very best to you, and my congratulations!

  • @suzettegm Fair enough!

  • @tenfingerstwohands There are many dialects of language throughout the world, and one should not expect that everyone speak a common tongue. To not be accepting or welcoming is to be an introvert without progression in relation to all ideals.

As for the performance- I enjoyed it very much. In terms of the music, I have heard it before and played it myself. Liapunov's music is certainly and influence on me.

  • @ReturnOfTheStienway Either something in a language I understand, or nothing. e.g. Did you enjoy the performance, or not? Did this give you an insight into the music you had not previously experienced?

  • @tenfingerstwohands What else would you have preferred?

  • @ReturnOfTheStienway Not a very informative comment.

  • Danke fur die Info.

    Pete
