  • have you tried using another brand of mouthpiece with your curry sleeve. although it is exclusively for curry, i hear you can fit other mouthpieces. any feedback for experience from you?

  • @effinbandgeek

The sleeve can fit Bach mpc, however it will not fit perfectly. It was okayish, workable, but still fits curry mpc best.

  • Why are you playing a medium bore lead trumpet with a heavyweight mouthpiece? You sound like ass on a boat.

  • @Kickerinthehead

lol, what is ass on a boat? Explain it for me please.

Indeed, 8310z is a MS bore trumpet, but the sound could be huge( I've heard Michael Mossman play this trumpet in person, and that was HUGE).

Jon Faddis using heavyweight mouthpiece on M bore Schilke S42 trumpet, why don't you ask him about this? I'm sure he can give you a better answer about this, afterall, I'm a pharmacist, not a professional trumpeter. I'm doing this simply because I bought this new toy(mouthpiece)

  • hello monster sleeve works well in Warburton mouthpieces

  • I've never played a Warburton mouthpiece, we don't have their dealer in my country, but I'm sure that it won't fit, coz curry monster sleeve only fits to curry mouthpiece.

  • Mouth control is massively important but it looks like your hands are in control. The sound you make is nice and it's a good horn but you could work on your consistency.

To practice, hold the trumpet with only two fingers - one on the crook nearest your mouth and one on the main tuning slide. ONLY use these fingers to balance the horn and keep it against your lips.

In that position, play open slurs (low C-G-C-E-G-high C). This will make your lips do the work and produce consistency.

  • Good!

  • @Kickerinthehead, does the sleeve fit comfortably between the cup and the reciever without slipping? because i doubt one size fits all.

  • your right. Lets hear something played beautifully now.

  • not bad dude. im not sure what the highest is that i can go. i only played trumpet for 3 years(6,7 and 8th grade) but i havent played since 8th grade, and im a senior this year(C/O 09 rules!). i know i gotsa practice more to get that high. hahaha

  • Consistency is really tough for me, I've tried the pencil work and still... can't play long enough, mouth control right? I'll try to figure it out, thank you very much!!
