Vinny vs the frozen tatami.wmv

"Vinny" is a Venetian Bastard sword by Christian Fletcher. in this video I took Vinny outside to cut some tatami to see what he could do. but the water I was soaking the mats in froze to a depth of 1/2" and the tops of the mats froz with it and the rest of the mats must have had some freezing going on because they were really had to cut. much harder than normal.

yours may have been more frozen than mine. but yeah I don't think you messed up your form that stuff is HARD. I only had visible crystals on the bottom couple inches of the mats if your whole mats were as frozen as the bottoms of mine you probably should not have cut them. could be a danger to your sword.

Man I just cut some frozen tatami with my da dao(chinese war sword) last week,I did horrible,It was super hard to cut.In the beginning, I thought me cutting with katanas has screwed up my Chinese weapons cutting skill;but when I couldn't even make the simplest double cuts,and start knocking mats off the stand....I was like what the hell,Then I looked closely and found all the small ice trapped in each strand of the straw. I was like no wonder.I'm suprised you can actually make those cuts!
