I don't usally agree with Mr. O'Reilly with this the only point I do agree is "responsible dissent". There are avenues you could take to disogree with a gourp without taking a person's first amendment rights away. They could have been outside protesting and not pushing Mr. Gilchrist off stage.

So what, O'Reily claims to speak about freedom of speech, but everyone knows that if instead this was a group that promoted tolerance, or a group like the nazis (or basically any group that O'Reliy would detest) I could so see him changing his view 180 degrees.

I think it is Bill O'Reilly-esque indoctrination and brain washing you should be worried about.
You really shouldn't worry about a few kids at Columbia when they represent a political minority in the grand scheme of things and are a threat to no one. Fox News however, is a threat to democracy itself. "Free speech" exists in FNC-land by parameters, and dissent is filtered through concision and bullying.
