I enjoyed the manshaming England gave to Ireland and I uploaded it for posterity and trolling purposes. As I am English I obviously did not enjoy the Wales v England match in this years 6 Nations. Inferiority? England, a nation with a population of 53.01 million as well as the nation with the most registered rugby players should be winning the six nations every year. But that's not the case, is it? And Ireland, a nation with around 6 million people has defeated England more in the 21st century than they have beaten us. Clearly the average Englishman is inferior to the average Irishman as well as the average Welshman, Frenchman, New Zealander, South African and Australian.

There's no such thing as a friendly game in rugby, only test matches. The match was a capped international. The closest to a friendly would be against the Barbarians, though some nations award caps for those as well.

Ignoratio elenchi. By extension your claim that the English were conquered before the Welsh (et cetera) is invalid. It wouldn't have been the modern English conquered.

If we take the original argument, then the submission of the Welsh to Æthelstan stands. They didn't hold the lands of medieval Welsh kingdoms, but then again Æthelstan was king in Wessex and Mercia.

Also, if you think modern English people are the same as Anglo Saxons, then you're kidding yourself. Your nation has been repeatedly dominated by celts, germanic tribes, vikings, normans, and even the Dutch and Scots through time, and now is an ethnically mixed country consisting of numerous cultures. If you'd bothered to learn proper history and not your Little Englander nationalist nonsense, you would know that Wales already consisted of highly developed, highly populated kingdoms built around the Roman civitas model long before the iron age tribes arrived from Denmark - the britons in England were mainly acculturated/killed by the iron age tribes. Well, the Welsh once occupied all of what became England. We (se Angelcynn) turned up around 500AD, and drove you back into the rain-sodden slum you now infest. We then called you Wealhas, (Modern: Wales) which meant 'Slave' or 'Foreigner'. So really the slaves were conquered first.

Welsh Kings submitted to Æthelstan (first king of the English) in 927, and were tamed again after their (and the Scots, Irish, and Vikings) pitiful attempt to attack the English was crushed at Brunanburh in 937.
