divesouthpadre.com - Mola mola, sunfish, seen 17 miles of the coast of South Padre Island, Texas. While diving on the Texas Clipper the gorgeous creature came up our dive boat, the Diver 1, and was curious about what we were up to. We saw him about 100 yards off of stern, but because of currents that day we were unable to swim to him. He dived down beneath the surface and I thought he was gone, but less than 5 minutes later he came back to the boat this time less than 15 feet away. We jumped in the water and were able to capture this incredible footage. Truly a strange and amazing creature.
