I like to eat meat, but I only like it from the wild.

Well, I'm still going to eat my beef jerky. I love beef jerky.
Eat McSweeney's Good as Gold Original Beef Jerky! Strips of lean, quality beef with that salty, savoury flavour appreciated by REAL men! If you don't like it, you're probably a homosexual child molester who hates freedom.

if we didn't cook and eat meat we would still be monkeys

Goddamn it, he's right. I just really like meat. And it's good for you! ...to some extent.
-
@Nyquirk I know that many people don't like milk but, seriously, it can't taste THAT bad....
-
@HomicideKaede Children need milk from their own species, for up to 5 or 6 years. Beyond that milk is an ingredient to food. It helps cakes rise and emulsifies fats and other such chemical magic in the kitchen. Those are attributes I'd never want to be left without in my kitchen. To just sit down and drink the stuff to me you might as indulge in a nice tall glass of flour. Then for a snack grab a tsp of salt and Tbsp. of sugar. For beverage drizzle lemon juice into a mouth full of baking soda.

@MindofaJedi There is huge pieces of evidence to suggest we evolved eating meat. Your eyes are in the front. You have sharp teeth. We do not have the apparatus to make certain proteins our muscles require from plant matter. It may not be evident it was "a mjor staple" but it certainly has been an integral part of the human diet since our existence. Just 'cause the book didn't mention it doesn't mean it's not obvious.
-
@karite, you're kidding right? Eating meat is perhaps the oldest type of food eat by our ancestors. Read a book? how about common sense.. You really think ancient man came across meat and passed it up? lol
-
I have just become a vegetarian today and I have always meat with a guilty conscience.
-
@jpastuch I never mocked anyone who for ethical reasons chose to become a vegetarian. But I think that the assumption that it is a healthy lifestyle is dangerous. You owe it to yourself to learn what it actually does to your body and the best advice I can give is to ask a doctor. There are many misconceptions around (for marketing purposes; promoting either high protein consumption or vegetarianism or magical diets)
but the absolute truth is nothing is healthier than variety and moderation.
@karite36 The consumption of animal carcasses IS a form of slavery if you consider how your meat gets to your plate. It is a long dark horrific road that obviously you hadn't been down. And if you don't feel compassion for these beings after your research, thats on you.And if you do feel compassion, if you do realize how eating dead animals diminish health and the environment, then do something about it! It may not mean abstaining for u, but its better than just rambling on YouTube doing nothing!

@karite36 There is NO evidence that meat was a major staple of the human diet 200 thousand years ago. Go read a book. You confuse agriculture and plant matter? Agriculture started around 15,000 years ago, so grain was introduced to the human diet then. The first foods humans ate were fruits because we have the digestive tracts of frugivores. You are incredibly uneducated.
