Oldest cannon in the Washington Navy Yard is left to dissolve under bird droppings, acid rain, etc. We have to get something done about this disgusting situation. I've tried to get something done about it, including volunteering to move this cannons indoors myself, but my offer has been flatly refused by the Navy, in writing. Kindly write your congressman.

  • They just don't want to bother with it, that's the bottom line. They can think up any number of excuses and reasons.

  • So no other reason why they will not protect these pieces? The only excuse given is that there is no room for them?
