Yeah, he does make a joke about enjoying a "light snack" often in his act. Damn impressive stuff, especially when you see it live after having held the light bulb yourself minutes earlier.

Eating glass is real. Todd actually eats the glass light bulb. It is an extremely dangerous stunt. Most sideshow performers do not attempt this and it is very difficult to find a mentor. I only know of a few people that do it. Todd Robbins, John Shaw, and some other guy whose name escapes me.

It's real glass, the key is to grind it up small enough with your teeth until it is too dull and small to do much damage. Still a very dangerous trick that should only ever be attempetd by seeking a professional mentor, something that is becoming incrediably hard these days. It is sad to see this form of performance art (especially one as uniquely American as this) being forgotten and pushed to the side
