I never watch those shows, but see the makeover clips on youtube on occasion.
many salons have some stylists that I would perceive might have a haircut fetish and use the opportunity to cut a woman`s hair short when they can convince them that it is
in their 'best interest' to do so. this does not apply to all hairdressers.

I saw a Maury Povich show many years ago, and all the women had super long, stunning hair, and after their cuts they all looked like average to slightly above average women. One was bawling her eyes out, and I couldn't blame her. It was a huge mistake. You are right, though, that SOME women have long hair that is begging for a cut. Not many, though.

@rac717 Most of the long haired women who appear on these shows have long hair that looks like shit and that is why they are chosen in the first place.these are women who have not taken care of their manes you will never see an attractive woman with beautiful long sleek hair like this on the show get a short haircut.
