I thought I'd do a little video demo of the Analogman Chorus pedal. I'm using my 1996 Fender American Lonestar Stratocaster. This is definitely THE best sounding chorus out there in my opinion.

  • why call it analogman if its digital?

  • @STJIMMY541 This pedal is 100% analog. Not sure where you got the idea that it was digital???

  • sounds like all analogman stuff a lot of hype over very average pedals.Lets face it all the good components are long gone,if you want good analog vintage is the only way dont be fooled by new old stock its lies..

  • @spredthefunk I agree 100% Bro.... All analogman stuff sounds terrible too me...

  • @earjwee Then why take the time to come here and watch this video? Just don't bother!!!

  • @spredthefunk I think the same thing can be said about lots of vintage gear as well. Take for instance a vintage 1970's MXR Script Logo Phase 90..... $300.!!!! Why??!!! It's really nothing special. Dallas Arbiter Fuzz for over a thousand!!!!??? Come on! I say: to each his own. If people love Analogman and you think it's over-priced and all hype, oh well. And... if people want over-priced, low-quality pedals that just happen to be 30 years old... more power to them.

  • "To each his own."

  • DO NOT BUY FROM T MIRANDA! These guys have had my chorus pedal in for repair for almost a year now. They keep making lame excuses for not getting it back to me. The last one was no boxes.

I even sent them more money a month ago. BUYER BEWARE

  • which chords are you playing in the third phase? the chorus really gives that charisma.. thnx nice vid..

  • Gorgeous! Have no idea how/why people would say this doesn't sound great.

  • In response to this fun discussion about NOS components and whether or not it's all just hype - forget it. We're living in a golden age of pedal making. There are more and better options out there than there ever have been tons of the options in front of us are fabulous. Stuff from the 70's was unreliable, inconsistent and super noisy.

  • @spredthefunk But of all the ones who claim it, Analogman is most likely to be telling the truth. So to the concept of "fake NOS" parts that was mentioned, this thread is about Analogman. And I think their stuff meets claims better than most. There are so many things that go into making a "faithful" reproduction, there aren't enough words allowed here. Suffice it to say that NOS components can help IF that is one of the primary contributors to that original tone.

  • @spredthefunk It's not about the values - components of today can be far superior if you buy the right ones. Most can be had in more accurate and stable versions than in the past. For instance, with carbon comp resistors, it was the instability and drift under temperature changes that made "the tone" in some Fender amps. Unfortunately, that wasn't repeatable because the components in one amp wouldn't drift quite the same is the components in the next amp.

  • @poneyboy23 ok i know you can get the panasonic chips and other old parts your right, but resistors and caps make a massive difference.some of these pedal builders seem to think just coz they use the same values that are on the schematics that they will have a great pedal but thats so wrong.Im sick of reading things like this is a faithful reproduction, and it turns out to be total shit....

  • @GrowTheCaine you might get some of the parts, but you wont get most of them, using components that have the same value does in no way mean it will sound good. just check out the electro harmonix q tron one of the original designers of the mutron 3 as been involved in building it,and its ok but not in the same league as the mutron 3...

  • @spredthefunk well you can still buy parts that match the mu-tron and on top of that building it yourself allows you to tweak the parameters of the filter yourself it may not be the same thing but you might always be able to construct something WAY better given the right parts.

  • @spredthefunk I don't disagree - using NOS components means nothing. But your blanket statement that "all the good components are gone" is just plain wrong. Original MN3007 chips can still be had for instance. NOS are easy to find. Does it make a better sounding pedal? Not necessarily. As to the "originality" of Analogmans sounds, that's up for debate. In fact, getting that "original" sound is a lot more than getting an authentic pedal. If I had an original fuzz face, I wouldn't sound original.

  • @GrowTheCaine hey mate this auto wah is ok,but ia vintage mu-tron 3 would wipe its arse, and any other envelope fiter that dares to challenge the KING.......
