The late great flute player Frankie Kennedy with Altan was the first to put these two tunes together in this way. Only the first tune, a slow air, is actually called Dobbin's Flowery Vale. There are lyrics to it--it's a traditional Irish song from County Armagh. The second tune is a reel played at a slow tempo that's known by several names, including Eddie Moloney's Favorite and The Drogheda Lasses. I hope Rajaton gives Altan credit for the arrangement.

@mothaOmess Well you could listen to it with drugs and alcohol... maybe it would be even more superlative... which is, i realize, oxymoronic

I listened to this song in Vocal class because we were detirming and picking out notes and stuf like that. The first time I heard it, it just sounds so beautiful. I always forget that theres no instruments, because the guys just do the bass so well.
Everytime I hear it, I get chills, like right now.
They seriously, do an amazing job. <33

I can still remember the first time I heard this song. At 2:04 when all of their voices open to this beautiful harmonious crescendo, and then at 2:09 when a smooth, milky male voice takes the lead. I was stunned and mesmerized. Absolutely amazing.
