I love Deep Purple/Rainbow, etc...and Ritchie Blackmore is one of the best ever...but he gets a little scary when he smashes his guitar; it looks like he wants to kill someone but instead takes it out on the poor instrument...

Did Dio have a cigarette in his hand (look around 5:30)? Blackmore almost maimed fans in the front at the end, but I'm sure I'd have gladly taken a shot from his swinging strat just to say "Ritchie Blackmore hit me with a Strat!!" Long live Blackmore!!!!

Only in the first albun the band was called ritchie blackmore's rainbow...at the time of this show it was only rainbow,cause dio became as important as ritchie in the band it was not anymore ritchie solo carrer band...after dio left rainbow became ritchie's again.

@zacharyblake Blackmore used to smash his guitar halfway through the song - Dio was taking a welcome fag break I think and everyone looks a bit shocked when Richie finishes it. The version in Germany 1976 is better, but I think you can only get that on album I think. Cozy, Ronnie and Richie in the same band makes it a pretty unique experience however.

Blackmore hasn't smashed a good guitar, at some point he switched guitars. At the start he's playing on a burst strat with a white scratchplate but the guitar he smashes up is black with a black scratchplate. Effect, effect, effect.

I love lots of the music created by Strat players like Hendrix and Blackmore, but hate single coils--the sound is too thin. Yank that piece of shit bridge pickup out and stick in a big fat humbucker!. That stacked humbucker Yngwie uses sounds like shit, too. Put a soapbar pickup in there, and get some midrange. That's my opinion as a player and a fan. Please dont' slag me for that. Would just like to see a good thing sound better.
