The extra 500 lbs you have with a diesel isn't going to make or break the truck, and the extra power + durability is worth it in my opinion. The wide vs thin tires is an ongoing debate that will probably never find a winner.

@ramtough85 -yeah, that's the problem with most diesel mudders. And except for flotation purposes, i don't think those really wide tires really help much either, too much weight, i prefer cookiecutters.
