This piano duet with Irene Collias--the second duet in a series--took place during a piano lesson. Irene has a passion for music and has just started studying with me. She said, "this is the most wonderful journey I have ever taken!" This improvised duet shows why!

Over the course of thirty years, I've improvised with hundreds of individuals on four continents—individuals ranging in age from 18 months to 85 years, as well as those with a variety of developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, blindness and autism. Without fail, each person who has ever sat with me at the piano has created music of disarming originality. The conclusion is significant: that beauty is inherent to us all regardless of age, culture or background, and its expression is unfettered by any limitation. It is becoming clear to me that, in essence, we are all creative beings. This is the powerful and catalytic message I'm endeavoring to bring to the world.
