The students in this Doowop classic from 1958. First heard on a obscure chess greatest hits lp in the sixties. Later done by the beach boys on Beach boysToday from 1965 also a great unknown favourite.
So great to learn on the internet that it was Jazz great Wes Montgomery who played on it in the Chess Studios, Chicago, Illinois on May 11, 1958.
Also one of the great all time two siders with on the b side Every Day of the Week from the same session.

A true classic.
I believe Ricky Kennedy sang with a Students group put together in the early '70s for a Gus Gossert show. Marv Goldberg identified him as a lead singer. I don't know if he sang lead on this song for that show.

My dad use to love this song. He use tto sing it all the time. Dad passed away june of last year. Everytime i hear it i cry. God bless you pop.
