Another classic scene from one of the best Westerns ever made. As with the rest of the movie, it shows the hero's violence does not preclude his kindness or humanity, as he saves two more innocents and takes them under his wing.

Watch carefully, this is a demonstration of how the revolver was used in actual combat. Rangers (and later the Army) carried as many as they could and got close to their mounted opponents. The revolving pistol was the technological edge that finally defeated the Comanches and outlaws. The only time I've seen it in a movie.
