Even the Confederates looked down on these people as worthless, which is why West Virgia left the Confederate State of Virginia, and became it's own Union State serving the North. So in effect.. These people are notherners, Yankees. As WV's they took up arms againt the Rebel State of Virginia and the C.S.A., after they were cast out - even though they did little damage, if any to the Rebels.

in the 90s he had a nice little cabin in the woods looked like a fair little place, then in the newest movie they live in apartments that are run down i guess low rent, i'm sure he made money and not being wise to having anything i'm sure managers etc. got the money , most likely just gave him beer and maybe some pocket cash.
