i cant ease off on generalization. i am bombarded with it on this comment page and throughout youtube. its frightening. i am proud of the Judeo-christian source of our governance, science, education, but atheists are now rewriting history. Universities which started adjacent cathedrals in Europe, are now touting that J-C principles persecuted scientists! how ludicrous! the catholic church was excited about science! even Galileo! but arguing went on of course. The Deists Atheists like promote are our founding fathers. Deism has MANY issues. But the one focal point are the Church going christians who philosophized Deism in govt. Atheists want to disregard judeo-christian influence and use Deism as their shield.

Sorry dude, I have to say your wrong and the Liberal viewer was right. TJ wasn't the only founding father to debunk your theory. John Adams and Ben Franklin both wrote letters and gave speeches saying that we should be and was founded on reason not religion.

i find that there really is no issue, christianity should have no preferred place in society, it should be equal to other religions, and an attempt to connect it with the founding, in my opinion, should not result in any preference. because ultimately, i get the feeling that this is what its all about, christians attempting to show that the christian religion deserves a higher place in our society.

FACT: Separation of Church and State was coined by by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 in a letter to the Danbury Baptists, in which he referred to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution as "thus building a wall of separation between Church & State". This video skips right over the part where Liberalviewer goes over the treaty with Tripoli, authored by Adams and Jefferson, which states "The United States is in no sense founded on the Christain religion." I also think an argument is not very compelling when you say "blah blah blah" while someone else is reading good evidence against your case. And it is YOU who has a problem with HIS choice of words?

I'm sorry taqiyyacrusader, but if you are to refute a point I think it would be much stronger if you can provide some actual facts to back you up. At the very least, Liberal Viewer did his research and was able to generate evidence.

For example "...and yet he (Thomas Jefferson) has build his philosophy and foundation on Christianity" This is where you would input facts to back you up. If you don't have any, it becomes an opinion.
