@RobNLynchburgVA That's because they aren't taxed heavily enough. If they were taxed so heavily to the point that the person could not afford it, then you would see a big reduction in the consumption of junk food.

I love junk food, but I'm all for a "sin" tax on fattening foods. I smoke, nobody seems to care that my bad habit carries a hefty tax. Nobody HAS to smoke and NOBODY has to have a bag of potato chips. You can live without either. Do you really think an obese person would stop eating junk food if it cost a little more. I've often heard people say, "when cigarettes are $5 a pack, I'm gonna quit." But they don't. People are going to do what they want......TAX BAD HABITS. I'm all for it.

Why not "adjust" the high price of healthy food so poor people can be healthy too? Oh wait, who am I fooling? Nobody cares about poor fat people who can't pay for expensive surgery!
