i have two baby red eared slider turtles, and i kept them in a little plastic tank for about a week with about 2 inches of water and i just recently seen them in deep water on youtube swimming and such, so i got a new tank filled it with water and put them in it and and sunk to the bottom and wont come up for air, and they normally would every 2 to 3 minutes and didnt come up for more than ten minutes, so i took out a lot! of water making the tank only 3in deep. advice? i dont want them to die!!

well in TN and Alabama and some other southern states its ILLEGAL to SELL ANY turtle b/c of the risk of salmonella. You can look it up on the Tennessee wildlife resource agency website

If that's true, then that sucks! States can go in depth with national laws and make them more strict if they want. And apparently Tennessee has!

also, what state do u live in b/c in TN there are laws against them and it makes me mad b/c i want one but i dont wanna steal a wild one

It's illegal all over the U.S. to SELL turtles less than 4 inches. A lot of places sell them anyways apparently. It's not illegal to BUY them though. Be careful though. A lot of turtles are already sick when you buy them.
I agree. You shouldn't take one straight from the wild.
