This is a first look of the Intermountain ES44AC. This is not a full review due to time constraints and lack of knowledge. I just wanted you to get a look at the engine and then the full review will follow.

  • What are ditch light numbers? There are no such thing. The numbers on the upper part of the cab are on the numberboards.

  • @ovationpdh Yeah you are correct. I know what a number board is but I was so tired last night I could barely walk straight. Thanks for the correction.

  • So the numbers on the numberboards don't match the road number of the unit? I don't think I have ever seen that mistake on a model.

  • @ovationpdh they don't match but this is the very first model to go out from the first run so Intermountain is aware and making sure they don't go out to the consumer when they release these sometime next week.

  • when are these engines suppose to hit the store shelves?

  • @NampaSubdivisionAJV I would say around late next week.

  • Very nice detail ,,nice layout takes lots and lots of time

  • I want to get the BNSF one of these on ebay.

  • I like the model the up looks awsome and very good for the first run I like it very much how much did it cost

  • I feel that QSI would have been a better sound choice for Intermountain seeing as to how Tower 55 is out. Otherwise, solid model. Soundtraxx just doesn't sound prototypical to me. BLI still takes the cake when it comes to sound.

  • @gecx6000 The Tower 55s had Digitrax decoders which have 16-bit sound. The Intermountains have Soundtraxx Tsunami which is 32 bit sound.

  • Thanks. :)
