IF YOU WERE NOT IN MABLETON GEORGIA WITH THE SENIORS 55 AND OLDER YOU WERE IN THE WORNG PLACE LAST NIGHT.
Was it 300, 500 God knows, but RESTORATION LIFE CENTER with Elder Luther and Cassandra Washington and the staff went beyond the call of duty to reach community. If every senior wasn't at the Christmas, almost the City of Mableton & Austell was there.
I could write a book on this event because it was the first ever in the heart of Mableton, Ga that I have ever seen this many seniors come together in my 57 years living there. They came on walker; they came on the Word of Faith Bishop Dale Bonner, Vision for Souls, Bishop Keith Young buses and the staff working the parking lots care for our old people. They are the seniors but last night they were the one who laid the foundation and opened up many ways for us other than Jesus. Jesus would have been please, every elected official if they were there would have been pleased and everyone in the house was pleased.
Every person 55 and above got gifts and actually it was too many under 55 in the building. The food was cook by Community Church and the servers came from Community Church. Real food, tasteful food fit for a King and Queen. They did not fix plates they had each table set up with the food so everyone could get as much as they wanted on their tables. Usually we set the head table up and prepare it for the leaders to eat and fix his or her plate; well every table was setup as a leaders table. The food was tender Turkey, gravy, corn, string beans, rolls soft for the teeth. Drinks to meet the need for the seniors not too see and not to bitter but just right. The cookies were cooked at the homes homemade. This food was not stove top stuffing, no can food but food fit for the residents of South Cobb County. I like it when people are made to feel welcome to whatever you give to them. I don't care for when a person give and want you to beg for what they are giving. Luther Washington, your attitude filtered down to all staff and no one felt anything but love in the house. If they were homeless, hungry you all made everyone feel welcome to the food, the place and gifts.

There was not street in the house, no rudeness in the house, it was laughter, singing and many other good works. It made me remember Mayor Maynard Jackson when they started and Mayor Shirley Franklin as she finished the seniors Christmas ball at the Hyatt Regency. Over 2,000 people would come and the buses would roll in from every side of the Metro area. The Grand ballroom would be full, the next level ballroom and it would be a great event.
It brought tears to my eyes to see so many in the house and in Mableton. Every thing was free. Every gift was free and it wasn't sock or a box of candy but it was suited for a royal home for mom and dad. With Joy did Sis. Cassandra Washington and Mr. Brown as well as Santa in love give out gifts. The men had their gifts and women had theirs. It was so great I had to go out in the yard were the buses were in line to take the seniors home and gentlemen brought other seniors his or her vehicle.
Jesus was in the house, on the walk way and the head of this event. In two days they prepared a building for 230 plus seniors. They were counting on 300 but the Community Church prepared for more to make sure everyone ate. Every waiter and waitress was nice, and knew how to be a servant to the seniors. Seniors love to have dinners and meet and greet. Sometimes people ask is that all we do is eat, that is important when they come together. This center has severed the community and this group of people daily. Thank You Elder & Sis. Luther & Cassandra Washington my guard son. Thank You Mom and Dad Sr. Washington for your son one day climbing in a window at the old Racket World in Mableton and doing what God told him to do, " be a servant to the people." When we give off bites and pieces God will rain down from heaven help in the form of finance and other needs. Thank you servant of the Lord.
God has more for the Restoration. Because you honestly do give it back to the people He is going to give it back pressed down shaken together and running over with good measures. Thank you for including our residents at Parkland Manor and the senior communities of Cobb County, those from Adamsville, and Northwest Perry. Thank you for being like Christ.
