I'm sure if anyone of us left our nation of birth and went to a country with a foreign language, Raymond Chan's accomplishments would be difficult to match. It's important to remember for anyone living in a Western nation (other than aboriginals and the first nations), all our our ancestors were immigrants and we dishonour their memory by treating the new immigrants poorly.
That's not a very nice thing to say. Regardless of the way he pronunciates it's more important to focus on the struggles that this man has overcome. This is a Canadian who came to this country 37 years ago and was chastised for speaking like a "yellow asian". He didn't let it get him down so he worked hard, ran and succesfuly held democratically elected office for a period of time.
