I am not impressed with this footage but people have requested it. Treasures of Japan show on NHK. C.W. Nichols visits a Ryukyu Kobudo school and also Matsuda Yoshimasa, a practitioner of Ryukyu Karate who's lineage I'm unsure of. See my other videos from this particular episode for more details on when it was shot and aired on NHK.
I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Matsuda Sensei in Okinawa and learned one of his proprietary kata ("Seiyu") directly from him and found him to be an extremely formidable master. His level of fitness - an important attribute relating to credibility in a master, I believe - is truly extraordinary. At 70 years of age he had the body of an advanced athlete half his years. He is in the Nakazato lineage and is a respected Shorin-ryu sensei and kaicho of his own organization: "Myobukan".

This is enough to make me feel I have spoiled myself today.
Read C W Nicols book (moving zen) years ago before going to Japan. Respect the hell out of him for what he does to make Japan more aware of environmental problems etc.
To find out that he still has an interest in karate is great !
Thank you so much !
