on that day seamus twomey give orders for three men to go up to the roof of the flats and shoot when he raised his arm. the men went into the flats because the roof was too dangerous but when seamus raised his arm the crowd of catholics behind him ran at the police the men then fired into the air so that the crowd would move and they did then the men shot at the brits

The British government has a very long list of countries they marched into and stole by brutality, all the while calling the locals, be they Irish, Scottish, Indian (India), Welsh, Maori, Australian Aboriginals, South East Asian, Japanese or Chinese, to name a few, primitive, uncivilized and barbaric. You can run out of fingers and toes counting the many massacres the British government created. Our founders took America out from under the Queen and gave the world a place to escape from tyranny.

@990drifter Sorry to take so long to reply. No I was RE. The Choggie shop was THE in-place for Choggieburgers, Flakes and space invaders. Which was about all there was to do off duty. I was there while the Russians where in Afghanistan. The Choggies, who were Afghanies, tried to convince me and a few of my Jock compatriots to sign up for them to kick the Russians out. Think they must have been watching too many re-runs of Carry On Up The Khyber!

i was fortunate enough to have lived in Horn Walk and Lenadoon for many happy years before the start of what was to become "The Troubles". I remember how living as a protestant we lived happily with our Catholic neighbours, who were our very good friends. I was there that day stood watching behind were the soldiers were and didn't really understand what it was all about, how our lives were to change and our people to become even more divided, shame on us all. Lets all pray for better days.
