The interview comes from "The Genius of a Place", a feature-length documentary about the fragility of places of beauty. It contemplates the ways mankind contributes to the making of a place. It also reminds us of our power to shape its destiny and even destroy it, if we're not careful.

In today's world, every community -- big or small -- faces the challenge of balancing economic interests with preserving that place's beauty, livability and long-term sustainability.

No matter where they are, places of beauty are vulnerable. Either mankind takes care of them or they will be lost, forever.
